A couple staying a Gulf Shores R.V. park had a terrifying day near the beach. A man working underneath a motor home was crushed when the R-V slipped into gear and rolled over his chest.
"He's got some pretty bad injuries," says Gulf Shores firefighter Charles Ingram. "We had to call in MedEvac to airlift him out and take him to the hospital."
The name and condition of the man hasn't been released. The man's wife fought back tears as paramedics worked on him.
"We've been here for 11 years and nothing like this has ever happened," says Pat Shackelford. Shackelford manages the Luxury R.V. Resort located on Highway 59 just a few blocks north of the beach.
Three dogs were inside the R-V when the accident happened. The mother and her two pups were pulled out and taken by animal control officers for observation.
Witnesses say the dogs will be okay.
The R-V crashed into a swamp. A tow truck was able to pull out the motor home and salvage it.
