degree robbery after three restaurants in the city were robbed on Saturday.
At 120 a.m. the Wendy's at Cottage Hill near Azalea was robbed.
Saturday evening, The Subway at Cottage Hill and Pleasant Valley was
robbed, and employees gave police a description of the pair, one of whom
was armed with a silver handgun. A third restaurant was robbed about
an hour later, at 8:00 p.m. when two people came in and demanded
money at the Mandarin Kitchen on South University Boulevard.
Witnesses described a light blue Caprice being driven by a third suspect,
and half an hour later the car was stopped, and the occupants arrested.
Police say 19 year old Christine Marie Smith, 17 year old Kenneth Earl Ray,
both from Mobile, are being held on three counts of first degree robbery.
A 15 year old juvenile was also arrested, although police have not indicated
if he will be charged as an adult. A silver handgun, money, and a bandana
were recovered from the car when the three were arrested.
