considering another run for the governor's office. His father, Fob
James, served two terms as governor.
James, who is 46, said he has traveled around the state meeting
with Republican Party members and lining up a campaign organization
for the 2010 race.
In 2002, Tim James finished third with 9 percent of the vote in
a Republican primary won by then-Congressman Bob Riley with 73
percent.
He said he has filed paperwork with the secretary of state to
run in 2010 and has started spending money on polling. James
predicts the GOP primary will be crowded in 2010 because Riley
can't run again and a lot of Republicans are eyeing the state's top
office.
Former Congressman Sonny Callahan of Mobile will serve as James'
campaign chairman.
