MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A bill that would exempt the federal
economic stimulus checks from Alabama income taxes is stalled as
the Legislature enters the final six days of the 2008 regular
session.
Internal Revenue Service officials say taxpayers will begin
receiving federal tax rebate checks next week. The checks will be
at least about $600 for most single taxpayers and $1,200 for most
families. But Alabama residents are likely to have to pay some of
that money to the state in taxes.
The bill to exempt the rebates from state income taxes is
waiting to be considered in the House and still must go to the
Senate, with only six days remaining in the current session. The
bill is stalled behind the state's education budget and a
controversial corporate income tax measure.

So...do you actually think that the next batch of crooks that you elect into office will be any better than the current batch of crooks in office? The problem is the system itself...it is a magnet for white collar criminals...I think you call them “politicians”. It is EASY money for them...and we are footing the bill. Good luck with your “elections”.

The media reports that baby bush and his crew push to give the working class a bonus to stimulate the economy. I haven’t heard anyone report that the rebate is an advancement from the 2008 tax return. I want you people to know there is no such thing as a stimulus check when it is your money given to you in advance.

We all need to remember who is currently in office and vote everyone of them out next election if this in fact pasts. The people of Alabama deserve better than politicans self serving their own special interests. We all need leaders in State Govenment that will serve the best interest of the working people of Alabama

It’s about what I thought would happen. The corporations and the AEA would hold the public’s money hostage until they got what they wanted first. About the same situation with dropping the grocery tax and building a very expensive state house for our politicians.

Rest assured YOU WILL PAY, When has the legislature jumped up and did the right thing for all the citizens of
alabama.  They have proved this by their past actions or lack of them.
