Escambia County School Superintendent Jim Paul has pleaded not guilty to DUI charges.
Paul was arrested earlier this month after being pulled over around 3:30 in the morning between Tampa and Clearwater.
After his arrest, Paul told News 5 he had gone to a casino while on a school trip and had a couple of glasses of wine that he tried to sleep off in his car before driving back to his hotel.
A deputy pulled him over after he was spotted speeding and swerving all over the road.
Paul has been instructed by his attorney not to comment any further about the arrest. His next court date is next Wednesday in Pinellas County
