getting a taste of a world without technology.
A Coral Springs High School class cut themselves off from the
Internet and television for a week as part of a project that
started in November.
English teacher Brenda Durkacs says she came up with the idea
for the project because she wanted her students to appreciate
reading and processing information as much as they appreciate
technology.
She says -- quote -- "I wanted them to get away from that
computer, get away from their cell phones, get away from the things
that get in the way of them reading a book."
