We could know by the end of the week when students will be allowed to return to the Spanish Fort Elementary campus.
According to Baldwin County School System Spokesman Terry Wilhite, the Alabama Department of Public Health is considering a plan that would cordon off an area still being decontaminated and allow students to return while the clean-up is finished.
The school has been closed since lead contamination was detected during the Christmas break.
Classes have been held at area churches while clean up continues.
