"We're trying to beat the next round of rain," says Public Works Director Brian Watkins. "The weather forecast says it could rain again by Wednesday, so we want to get this dam repaired."
The breach caused a flash flood. At least one home on the creek was flooded.
About ten miles east of Milton at Blackwater River State Park, recreational facilities are closed because of high water and the main road through the park is impassible.
