Randy Lofton says he been spotting snakes in a ditch near his home for the past few weeks. Lofton says it got worse after recent flooding in the area. The ditch is already an eyesore with garbage and other debris clogging its path, Lofton says now snakes are making things worse."I know if the ditch was cleaned out the snakes wouldn't be here...you can't even see the ditch through all the debris, it's just ridiculous, "Said Lofton.
Lofton caught a snake to show us the proof, but we didn't have trouble finding one ourselves when we were there. "It's infected with snakes," Said Lofton.
Reginald Jackson's backyard faces the ditch. Jackson says the crawling creatures give him the creeps. "Now I'm kind of afraid to come out to my yard you know I be looking every time I come out the door now because you never know when you might walk up on one,"Said Jackson.
We spoke with Prichard City Councilman Napolean Bracy he says the city got a grant just over a month ago to the clean out the ditches.
Bracy says the ditches were clogged during Hurricane Katrina. He says several ditches have been cleaned out and so will this one, in the next few months.

WKRG, you make me sick.  Showing a snake that the guy just beat in the head.  People have snakes for pets and not all snakes are bad.  What if that was some other animal, people would be calling for that guys head.  Since it’s a snake it’s ok to bash it in the head then watch it suffer on camera?
