members of the Senate Ethics Committee need to quit sitting on
their "rear ends" and resolve an ethics complaint over him
hitting a fellow senator at the end of the last legislative
session.
The Republican senator says it's been more than six months since
he struck Democratic Senator Lowell Barron. And he says the issue
needs to be resolved before the next session starts February fifth.
The chairman of the Senate Ethics Committee, Democrat Zeb
Little, says a meeting is planned for Wednesday. The Senate's rules
prevent committee members from talking about the specifics of
complaints, but Little says he hopes to get the matter resolved
very soon.
The deputy majority leader of the Senate, Quinton Ross, says the
Democratic majority won't let the issue interfere with the upcoming
session.
The rules of the Senate allow the committee to issue a warning
to Bishop. Anything beyond that takes action by the full Senate.
