Some Causey Middle School parents can save a trip to the store to buy more uniforms. Over the past couple of days parents told us that their daughters were not allowed to wear a certain type of skort to school. The school allowed the kind that have shorts in the back and fabric in the front, not the ones that was a skirt all the around with shorts underneath. They contacted News Five saying the type of skort was not made clear in the uniform policy. After some discussions, the school agreed to allow students to wear the skort that looks like a skirt. School spokesperson Nancy Pierce explained why there was confusion over the different types of skorts. "If you had come to me and said 'Is this a skort?' I would have said, no because to me a skort looks like a skirt in the front, looks like shorts in the back and so I think that's where the miscommunication, the problem, comes from is the fact that all of a sudden they now have skorts that look like skirts all the way around but then have pants underneath," said Mobile County Public School Spokesperson Nancy Pierce.A uniform committee usually comes up with the guidelines on what uniforms are appropriate for students to wear.
Administrators say for the next school year, they will be much more clear on what type of uniforms parents should buy.

Why would these skorts not be allowed ?Do you not allow skirts in this school?
The biggest problem I see in uniforms are the Teachers not having to wear them. They should not be allowed to wear anything they want and students have to go by a strict dress code.
In Washington county schools they have banned crocs for students but teachers can wear crocs, flipflops or any other type shoe they desire.
