- Fire started around 2:00 p.m.
- Staff evacuated everyone from the building, then tried unsuccessfully to fight the flames with fire extinguishers.
- Took the Foley Fire Department about an hour to get things under control.
- Cause and extent of damage undetermined.
- The store will be closed until repairs can be made.
- “This is a great blow to our Baldwin county operation,” said Major David Waite. "Not only is the Thrift Store a revenue source for the Mobile-Baldwin Area Command, it is also the site for the delivery of bi-weekly social services for Baldwin County residents."

The Salvation Army Thrift Store on Highway 59 in Foley is on fire.
Smoke is billowing out of the building. The store has been evacuated.
All available units are fighting the fire.
