If you live in the north part of Mobile, be sure to follow traffic laws!
The Mobile Police Department will be setting up safety checkpoints in Precinct 4 starting at 2 p.m. Precinct 4 covers the north part of the city, generally north of Airport Blvd. and west of Interstate 65. Police will be checking to make sure people are wearing their seatbelts and that children are properly buckled up in car seats. Officers will also be making sure that drivers have the proper paperwork in the car with them. They will be looking for registration information, proof of insurance and drivers licenses.

So you have had 80 years to speak up, look what we have to show for it! Police being used to do things which will not affect crime or drugs. I will go out on a limb and say you voted for Clinton.

Wake up mrittelmeyer our country is slipping away.

God Bless America and In God We Trust.

Personally I have never had to provide proof of insurance to get my driver license or an automobile tag----yes at the tag office the are REQUIRED only to ask if you have insurance but have never once asked to actually see the papers/ Dont know about this fellow but maybe Mobile just dont like you and they are picking on you.  The clerk at the tag office will explain this to you and that is that they are required ONLY to ask you if you have insurance ---not actually provide in hand the insurance papers.

It is people like you that sit back and do nothing. The USA is slipping away, get off your duff and speak up, we have been quiet to long. So, what’s it going to be? Will you speak up for what you believe or just stay as you are...??

Okay, Mayor Sam has West Mobile. Now the city sets up traffic traps to catch adults not wearing set belts. If someone is stupid enough not to wear a seatbelt then ..... whatever.

How about this, when you get your driver license or tag you must show insurance. When you re-new you tags...insurance. If you drop your insurance they carrier can mail send a .41 letter to the city. Give them 30 days to get insurance or the lose your DL. save the man hours doing “traffic watch points” and bust the crack and meth dealers.

The no-wearing seatbelt issue will cure itself. The insurance, no DL and no tags will also fix itself with the new process.

Crime, Drugs and Sex Offenders should be the focus. Mayor Sam, spend your new found money on these issues and stop trying to be like Hillary and her village.

I remember in school back in the 70’s the teachers telling about how in the USSR the people didn’t have much freedom to move about.  That they would have checkpoints on the roads where the government would demand to see your papers.  It was a big deal that we were free and didn’t have such government intrusion in our lives.  We were lucky to be Americans and free to travel without such random government search and seizure.

How far we’ve come.

I was stopped at one of these two weeks ago. The officers were very well organized. They knew what they wanted to see and I was only stopped for about 4 minutes. They were also very courteous. I hope they do more of these.
