The first of the tax rebates are being
deposited by the IRS into accounts across the country. The
government wants to make 800,000 direct deposits a day -- today,
tomorrow and Wednesday.
A survey indicates that taxpayers plan to use most of the money
to pay down debts, and that any shopping would be for food and
necessities, not luxury items.
The first paper checks will be mailed by the IRS on Friday, May
9th.
The rebates, which are expected to reach 130 million households,
include 600 dollars for an individual and 1,200 dollars per couple.
Families with children will get 300 dollars for each child.
They are part of a 168-billion dollar stimulus package that the
administration hopes will spur consumer spending and revive the
economy.

I was under the impression that my check was coming by direct deposit. But here I am seeing that I will be getting mine as a paper check. Odd.
