The Oakland Raiders are expected to officially announce today that they've come to terms with Mobile-native JaMarcus Russell.
The two sides agreed in principle Monday night to a six-year contract that will guarantee the quarterback more than 30 million dollars in the
richest contract ever for a rookie. The final contract needs to be approved by the NFL. According to a person familiar with the deal, it will be worth at least 60
million with about 31 million guaranteed.
Russell, who was selected number-one overall in this year's draft, is expected to begin practicing with the team tomorrow. But it's unlikely the former Williamson High School and LSU standout will contribute much to the Raiders this season after missing all of training camp, the preseason and the first week of the regular season.
