The Escambia County Sheriff's Office says a 15 year old boy was behind the wheel of a stolen car that crashed into a house on the west side of Pensacola.
A deputy tried to pull Michael Scott II over around 6:30 this morning. The Chrysler Sebring convertible he was driving did not have a visible license plate. But Scott refused to stop. About the time deputies backed off the chase, Scott barreled through an intersection, lost control, bounced off a tree and drove into a living room.
Scott didn't stop there. He got out of the car and ran. Deputies eventually Scott as he tried to climb a fence. While searching his pockets, deputies say they found a Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance card and a Regions Visa card that were reported stolen August 30th. The Sebring Scott wrecked was also reported stolen on the same day.
The Florida Highway Patrol cited Scott for driving without a license, running a stop sign, and leaving the scene of an accident. But he's got bigger problems than that. Scott faces felony charges of Failure to Obey Law Enforcement Officer to stop, damage to property at more than $1,000 and Grand theft.
We'll have more on this police chase tonight on News 5 at 10:00 after the season premiere of "Without a Trace."
