have ousted their pastor after he filed a civil lawsuit against
them to keep his post while facing criminal charges and a divorce.
In a Sunday vote ordered by a Baldwin County Circuit Court
judge, 112 members called for removing the Reverend David C.
Harrison. Church leaders said 50 people wanted Harrison to stay.
Harrison was arrested January 2nd at his Daphne home on a charge
of domestic violence.
Before one of his sermons in late January, a group of deacons
called police to remove him from church grounds. In his civil
complaint against the church and several deacons, he alleged that
the removal violated church by laws.
Harrison's lawyer said he will not fight the Sunday vote. A
message left with Harrison wasn't immediately returned today.
