Hundreds of Baldwin County Elementary students will be back in school this week.
A lead paint discovery has shutdown Spanish Fort Elementary school for ten days.
Crews discovered lead paint during a sand blasting project over the weekend.
Lead paint was detected on dust particles in 18 classrooms.
School is out Tuesday, but will resume Wednesday at three nearby churches.
Abby Lesso has two children attending Spanish Fort Elementary.
When asked about the discovery of lead paint, she said, "I'm worried about it, but I think that they won't let the kids go back until its safe. It's an awesome school."
Charlotte McRae's grandson is in fifth grade at Spanish Fort.
She says, "I just wished they had found out about it earlier."
But when asked if she was worried about safety, McRae said, "No, no, not really."
Baldwin School officials say sixth graders from Spanish Fort Elementary will be attending classes at Bay Community Church in Malbis.
Fifth graders will go to Faith Family Church on Highway 31.
Students in kindergarten through fourth grade will go to the Prodisee Center run by Spanish Fort United Methodist Church.
The church's senior pastor, Chip Hale says, "The school is bringing in all the desks and supplies and they're going to make sure they have all the things they need to start."
On Wednesday, students will be bused to the churches where they'll begin classes.
