Joseph Chapman says the students involved in a blackface portrayal
of Barack Obama have "expressed deep remorse."
The March 18th skit was part of a fund-raiser for diabetes
research.
Chapman says the university won't ignore acts of intolerance on
campus or in the community and will work to ensure that those kind
of incidents don't occur again.
People who attended the skit say one man dressed as a woman from
the Internet video "I Got a Crush on Obama" and performed a strip
tease for another student, who was wearing dark makeup and an afro
wig. In the background, two male students dressed as cowboys
simulated sex while holding an Obama sign that one student ripped
at the conclusion of the 30-second performance.
The Obama campaign had no comment.

Now this shows North Dakota State university’s lack of tolerance for comedy or opposing points of view. This was a skit for a noble cause, not to promote hate or intolerance. It might have pushed the limits a little to good taste, but these are students learning. You,the university’s faculty, teach by example not by dictation and i bet very few of the faculty could pass a test for all the morals needed to teach.I wonder what MR Chapman had to say about the rev.Wright’s church preaching, just to get an idea of his view on intolerance.
