At Lowe's Home Improvement in Mobile, we found some of you buying generators for "just in case."
Store Manager Todd Draime told News Five that business hasn't increased dramatically, but that folks have been coming in to stock up on supplies such as batteries, gas cans, and flash lights.
Draime said he's sure things would be quite different if Dean were forecast to come our way.
"I think with the hurricane going as far as it did into Texas, it wasn't quite as a scare for the general area of Mobile, but either way if we had a particular storm come into the area that was closer we would definitely see an influx of business," said Draime.
If you're still wondering what to buy for your hurricane survival kit, here's a quick list:
When the power goes out, flashlights and lanterns always come in handy.
If you need to stay on top of what's happening, a weather radio and batteries are good as well.
Plus, stock up on water, non-perishable food and plywood.
