A 22 year old Mobile man shot in a downtown nightclub early Sunday morning said he has no idea why he was targeted.
Lonnie Jordan and his mother talked exclusively with News Five Monday night.
Jordan said he was upstairs at Atlantis when the shooting happened.
He said, "It was very packed, and I was just standing by the bar and I heard 'Pow' and I was hit. Everybody just started running when they heard the shot. I felt myself hit, so I ran downstairs and told the security and he was like, put him out the club because everybody was running. He was like, put him out the club, and I had to take my shirt off to show him I was hit for real."
Ivy Jordan, Lonnie's mother, said her son called her shortly after he was shot.
Ivy Jordan said, "I was asleep and this was along about 12:00 and he called me and he said 'Mom?' I said 'Huh?' He said, 'I got shot.' I said, 'You got shot?' So I thought I was dreaming. I went back to sleep."
As for who shot him, Jordan said it was too crowded to see.
When asked if he had any idea why anybody would do this, or if he had any enemies, Jordan said, "No sir, no enemies. I don't know why."
Jordan's mother said she rushed to USA Medical Center to see him.
Ivy Jordan said, "As soon as I walked into the door, he said, 'Mama?' I said 'Huh?' He said 'Happy Mother's Day.' I just broke out and started crying and said, 'Thank you Jesus.' "
Jordan said his doctor told him he will leave the bullet where it is for now and try to get it out in about two weeks.
Jordan said, "(The doctor) said if it went straight, I wouldn't be here, I would have been dead. He said if it had went to the left a little bit, I would have been paralyzed. But it went a whole another direction on here, by the grace of God."
Jordan said he wants to find out who shot him, and wants another question answered.
He asked, "Why would you bring a gun in a club? They're looking for some trouble. And I got to sit here and suffer. Its just not right."
There have been no arrests in the case.
Mobile Police are asking for you to call them if you have any information on the shooting.
