New information released Tuesday in a dog fighting ring discovered in Santa Rosa County, Florida.
The sheriff's office arrested Jeffery Jay and Michael Anthony Jones.
Deputies pulled the men over Monday night in a traffic stop.
Two pit bull dogs were found in the back of the truck.
Both men are out on bond.
They're charged with using an animal to fight or bait another animal.
The two men were arrested after leaving Raymond Teamer's house.
Deputies say Teamer operated a major dog fighting operation.
Teamer is charged with possession of fighting dogs, a felony in Florida.

If anyone in the community knows about dog fighting what agency should be notified first?

It is a sad state of affairs when Michael Vick, Whoopi Goldberg, Roy Jones and other celebrity and high profile individuals broadcast their support for dog fighting through national media channels.  Many people in our society are impressionable enough to believe them and to support such criminal activities.  What kind of role model is Michael Vick?  I couldn’t wait to toss my son’s Michael Vick football and jersey into the nearest garbage can.  Dog fighting and rooster fighting, for that matter, are cruel and barbaric sports.  It has clearly become a part of certain cultures, certainly not “southern” as Whoopi Goldberg would have us all believe.  I am born and bred “southern” and animal cruelty and torture is certainly not a part of my belief system.  Pastors, Sunday school teachers, parents, grandparents, school teachers, counselors and the like should all feel compelled to communicate to our young people, that dog fighting and other forms of animal cruelty are morally and legally just plain wrong!

Yeah Florida law enforcement.  I wonder if Mr. Jones is related to the professional boxer that believes that dog fighting is an acceptable sport and supports Michael Vick’s case that he should be allowed to fight dogs and still play pro football.  If the laws and investigative techniques were stronger in ALL sta tes, including Alabama, this sport might come to an end.  If people, mainly celebrity “role models” keep telling the world that is okay to fight dogs, young people are going to grow up thinking that.  Children learn from these celebrities.  I hope that EVERY single person involved is arrested and prosecuted.  Alabama needs to get on board and put an end to dog fighting.  It is a crime, it is brutal and it is NOT an acceptable sport.  Thanks WKRG for your terrific news coverage.
