weekend while walking around naked in a wooded area near a ball
park will have a preliminary hearing January 14th.
45-year-old Michael Ryan South, of Whistler, Alabama faces charges of felony enticement of a child and
misdemeanor indecent exposure in connection with two incidents in
northeast Jackson County.
South's bond was set at $25,000 for both the felony and
misdemeanor charge. He had not posted bond yesterday.
Lt. Ken McClenic said South isn't expected to make the bond, but
if he did, South would be extradited back to Alabama for the
probation violation.
If convicted of the felony charge of enticement of a child,
South could face a prison sentence of up to 20 years and pay fines
of up to $50,000. The investigation is ongoing.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd says South was arrested on
Saturday when police went to investigate a report of a man walking
around naked in a wooded area behind Lum Cumbest ball park on
Mississippi 613.
