The Murphy High School family is dealing with the loss of one of their teachers. Jessica Tran's life came to a tragic end on I-10 Saturday, when she was killed in a car accident near Ocean Springs. The Mississippi Highway Patrol says another driver fell asleep at the wheel and hit her car head on. She was only 39. Tran taught History at Murphy High School for 12 years. But, her work didn't stop once she left the classroom. We talked with one student who worked closely with Tran on extra curricular activities, "she was a lady who, who lived by what she taught, she gave, she served, and she loved, and that wasn't just something she had painted as a quote on the wall, it was something that she lived each day, she was, she was a model, a model lady, that we should all look up to and try to be like she was," said Murphy High School student Travis Ritchie. Murphy's principal tells us counselors and teachers are available for students if they're having a tough time with Tran's death. He says, they pulled together today as a faculty to make sure students were comforted.
