MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Governor Bob Riley has proposed tripling
the size of Alabama's pre-kindergarten program in the first year of
expansion.
And he wants the number of 4-year-olds getting early schooling
to go from the current 2,400 to about 21,000 in four years.
Riley told a news conference Thursday that the high quality of
the Alabama program has been noted by national experts but it is
reaching only four percent of all 4-year-olds in the state.
He said funding would be at $30 million the first year and grow
to $81 million in four years.

This is wonderful, my son will be of age for Pre-K next school year how can I find out more information on Pre-K for him? Is this available in the Foley Area?
I moved here from Mississippi a couple of years ago and my daughter attended the Pre-K program there and I believe it helped prepare her for school. This shows in her grades, she currently is in 2nd grade and has been on All A honor roll since she started school!
