It was a busy and frightening afternoon for Mobile Police Officers who say a teenager attempted to run them over with his car.

At least one officer fired shots into the teenager's car.

It all started around 4:30 Monday afternoon in the Mobile Terrace community near Cody Road.

Police say 18 year old Christopher McClain rammed one of their vehicles with his red Oldsmobile Alero on Lincoln Boulevard near 8th Street.

They say he sped away but returned and rammed the police cruiser again nearly hitting at least one officer. Police say they then fired into the vehicle attempting to stop McClain.

After losing control of his vehicle, police say McClain resisted arrest and they were forced to use a taser and he was sprayed with mace. Some witnesses complained that the police used excessvie force.
