MCINTOSH, Ala. (AP) - A McIntosh police officer accused of
firing his weapon during a high speed chase on U.S 43 has been
placed on administrative leave.
Officer Blaine Barnett, son of Chief Michael Barnett, was
already under investigation for allegedly beating and Tasering a
driver during a traffic stop in March.
Officer Barnett reportedly fired a shot into the front tire of
the motorcycle when 38-year-old James Wills of Mobile refused to
stop. Police Captain Mike Ready said the bike never wrecked and
Willis was not injured in Sunday's incident.
Willis was charged with DUI, reckless endangerment and other
offenses.
Chief Michael Barnett said the results of an internal
investigation will be sent to an outside agency for review.

Unless you have served in the capacity as a law enforcement officer you have no idea the HELL that those men and women are subjected to.  Any call that they respond to could be their last.  People have no respect for authority anymore.  Leave it to the authorities to do their investigation and DO NOT SECOND GUESS the officer, do you know what you would do if someone was driving a motorcycle directly at you???  Would you be in fear for your life???

I’ve seen a motorcycle cut a full grown cow in half.  I think he showed considerable restraint firing at the front tire.

Have you not read all the articles on this?  Apparently not!  You would then know that the person was driving his motorcycle at the officer.  A motorcycle can be used as a deadly weapon, so when someone is driving a deadly weapon at you you shoot first.  Normally I would not even consider commenting to your remark because obviously you have no idea what the hell you are talking about and already have preconceived ideas about what has went down and are relying on the media for the truth.  Hell, I have no idea who this guy is.  I could care less.  It’s the media and people like you who rush to judge and quick to blame.  Don’t bother to comment back, you’ve shown your intelligence here or lack thereof.

so firing your gun at a man on a motorcycle is procedure?

Sounds like to me the press has it out for this guy as well some locals.  Looks to me he has followed procedure on all of his cases.  So what’s the problem?  If you have never put on a uniform you have no idea what it’s like.  I know what it’s like and I would never put on a uniform again knowing now what I know about judges and lawyers.
