A woman wanted for assault in connection with a head on crash in Gulf Shores has turned herself into authorities.
A warrant was issued for Summar Marousky’s arrest earlier this week. According to investigators she was driving the wrong way on Highway 59 near Gulf Shores when she crashed nearly head on into Baldwin County Deputy Andy Ashton. He remains hospitalized in serious condition but is showing signs of improvement.
District Attorney Judy Newcomb said her office was in negotiations to have Marousky turn herself in when she unexpectedly left a Florida hospital early Thursday morning.
Marousky reported to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s office around 8:30 this morning. A bond hearing could be held as early as this afternoon.

Where does everyone find that she was DWI ?? I have read all the articles on this wreck, and have not found even 1 that states she was drunk. All i found is that she was on the wrong side of the road.Is everyone just assuming that she was drunk, because she was on the wrong side of the road, or am I missing something???

OK People, have you ever had to smell blood, alcohol and antifreeze all together?  Secondly the deathly silence for the first few minutes seems like for ever.  Not to mention being trapped and unable to get out of the wreckage, My prayers go out to th officer ane to the driver who caused the accident. In the end all involved will have to live with this error in judgement.  I sincerey hope that justice is served and the officer makes a satisfactory receovery.

Think before you drink and drive, it is an accident waiting to happen and it is a smell that you will never forget. FYI I am a EMT/Firefighter and unfortunately smelled he odor I have smelt many, many times.

Andy is home, he is doing a lot better. When I asked his friend if he would ever be able to work again, he said “yes” while shaking his head “no”. I don’t know if that meant that they are all merely hopeful or what. But he is back and doing well, its just a matter of recovering now.

It’s nice to know she has friends. She’s going to need their support.

I hope officer Ashton gets well soon and has a full recovery.  Also I hope he hires an attorney and gets some form of compensation from the drunk driver’s insurance company if she has insurance or else her personally.

Just so everyone knows, Ashton should be coming home next week. He is doing better, but won’t be back to work for a long long time. If ever.

No person has the right to judge summar, but when she is out driving down the wrong side of the road possibly impaired with alcohol, it is our right to say something on this issue. That could have been any of us that she hit. I travel hwy 59 daily, so does my brothers, my nephews, my daughter, my mom, my sisters, my friends, etc., etc...Actually both of my brothers and their families live within 1000 feet or so of where the wreck occured. I am just glad to know she is locked up . She is locked up, right???

I thought we “people” could come online here and express our feelings......just like everyone is doing. This is a horrible situation, the officer...made you have a full recovery. Summer, i don’t know you, maybe if I did I could have prevented you from driving that night....you need a reality check. You messed up and it is time to pay up.

This is a place for ALL TO EXPRESS THEIR FEELINGS. Stop taking it to heart.
