The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office says Zak McCurley and Amber McCranie were found dead Sunday submerged in the shallow water of Marquis Basin in Milton. Autopsy results showed no signs of trauma, now The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office says they are waiting on the toxicology report. We talked with Zak McCurley’s cousin who says the two teens were best friends. She says the family is trying to make sense of what happened, "Zackery was strong, he could swim, he could jump, he could flip, he could pick me and my mom up at the same time and throw us on a trampoline if he wanted us there, um it just doesn't, doesn't add up from the information we have," said Zak McCurley’s cousin, Rena Nord. Amber’s aunt tells News 5, Amber was an outgoing girl who dreamed of becoming the next top model and she says Amber had just been accepted to modeling school. Zak’s cousin says he would have started his freshman year of college this week. Both families say they won’t have closure until they find out how the two teenagers died. Zak’s cousin asks that if you have any information about the case, you contact the family or the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
