They're leaving Sunday for Wisconsin and eventually will end up in the Middle East for more than a year.
They're leaving family and friends behind...and their children.
Mobile Community Action Head Start has developed a program that will help keep them connected half a world apart.
When the soldiers leave, they'll be given literary kits.
Inside is a tape recorder and a couple of children's books.
While in Iraq, the soldiers can read the stories and into the recorder and mail the tapes to their children.
The good thing about the program, the children will be given the same kit with the same set of books so they can follow along to their mother or father's voice.
"It's one thing to receive a letter saying that I'm okay, I'm doing fine but when you can hear a voice, it's a great way to stay connected," said 375th Family Support Assistant Clairann Duncan.
More members of different divisions of the 375th will be leaving for Iraq as well.
You can help the service men and women stay connected to their families.
You can donate tape recorders, cassette tapes, batteries or books and mail it to:
