Oceans Springs is sending a tractor trailer filled with donated items.
It started out as a small campaign but turned into a city-wide effort.
Boxes have been set up all across the city...from schools to city hall.
News Five stopped by Magnolia Park Elementary School where students have poured out their hearts to help by donating everything from notebooks, pencils, glue, and all kinds of personal hygiene products.
"They know what it's like to have gone through a natural disaster and they've also been first hand witnesses on the good will that the country has shown our small community. So they know a tornado hit Enterprise that it was another natural disaster and they know that a school suffered some severe damage and those people had homes that were destroyed so they know exactly what those families are going through," said Magnolia Park Elementary School Assistant Principal Teresa Callahan.
One of the donation drive organizers Linda Orrison says the city of Ocean Springs is just paying it forward for all the help it has received after Hurricane Katrina.
"What the Gulf Coast could do for Alabama, this is the least we could do for them and we could not in good conscious turn out and just ignore how bad they're hurting because we just know we've been there," said "From Ocean Springs to Enterprise" organizer Linda Orrison.
Because the donation drive has grown far beyond its expectations, all of the items will be sent to Enterprise in a tractor trailer.
The truck leaves next Wednesday.
