Julio Jones, the top college football recruit in the country, made national headlines when he signed with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Today, he's making headlines after taking the stand as a witness in capital murder trial.
Jones testified today in the trial of Labarron McDonald. McDonald is charged with killing LaShane Phipps. Phipps was killed last May while sitting in his SUV in the Aarronville community. McDonald was arrested Milton, Florida. Authorities say Jones was riding in a car with LaShane Phipps sometimes before he was shot, but not was with him at the time of the shooting.
