Former President Jimmy Carter helped kick off the 'Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project' today in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

Carter is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity to build 250 homes for hurricane victims from Texas to Alabama.

Tuesday, Carter will be in Mobile helping Africa Locke and her family work on a new home. During that visit, three students and the principal from Hillsdale Middle School will get to meet the former President.

Carter and his wife are celebrating their 25th anniversary with Habitat for Humanity, which was founded in 1976 by Alabama native Millard Fuller.

GO GETTEM JIMMY! We’ll never agree on politics but I respect what you’re doing by working up a sweat with the common folk.

I think the Carters truly are humanitarians, but I didn’t much like the idea of the guy meeting with Hamas leaders after everyone asked him not to do that.  We don’t need former presidents trying to undermine our security by meeting with such extreme terrorists!
