The University of South Alabama lost in the first found of the men's NCAA tournament. But the Jag's mascot has advanced to the championship round of the mascot challenge.

Southpaw defeated Villanova's Will D. Cat by nearly 2,000 votes to advance to the finals.

Southpaw must beat Baylor University's "Bruiser" to win the national title. But winning the coveted crown will not be an easy feat. Bruiser received 77,000 votes to defeat Stanford's Tree in a close contest that came down to the wire.
