A prisoner tried to make a run for it as Prichard Police officers were getting ready to take him to Mobile Metro jail.
Police say Claylon Fillingim of Chickasaw ran for about 100 yards before police recaptured him.
In addition to escape charges, Fillingim is charged with domestic violence and receiving stolen property.
