of rebuilding the Gulf Coast after the 2005 hurricanes, told The
Associated Press on Friday that he is resigning.
Powell said he notified President Bush and expected his position
to be filled. The executive order establishing the position expires
in November, three years after it was signed. Powell gave no date
certain for when his resignation would take effect but expected it
to be within 10 days to three weeks.
Powell said he believes the foundation has been laid for the
region's recovery, with commitments in place from the federal
government for a number of things, including the rebuilding of the
levee system in the New Orleans area.

Stealing From The Church

I certainly don’t know whose recovery or what foundation for recovery he is talking about. The only recovery we have had here was inspired by hard work by my self and my wife, and a little money from FEMA,for which we were grateful. We had to do it all by our selves.Hard manual labor was what it took. You must have forgotten about us up here in the swamps of Saraland,MR. POWELL.The only foundation we have seen laid here is THE FOUNDATION OF DO IT YOUR SELF HARD WORK, and we didn’t need a federal executive to tell us that.
