No, not Naked School. Some Naked Teachers would be very scary and alarming...ha. But enforce the uniform policy with “appropriate” clothes. Not sagging, shoes tied with the laces that are in them, shirts tucked in, etc.

First, my heart goes out to the kids that had to see this and the family who now has to deal with this tragedy. I have children in both a middle and high school in Baldwin County. In today’s day and age, the times are harder and the laws are weaker. I believe that if parents were able to raise their own children, they would turn out just fine. Just as we all did in past years. With children of my own in school, I also think that cellular phones should be allowed for emergency use only. My younger child missed the school bus and had no way to contact me to let me know that she needed a ride home.  Whether this young man had trouble at home or trouble with school, it is always sad to hear that a child would take the life of themselves or another. What has become of our society? You think it’s bad now, just wait another 5-10 years.  I tell my children everyday that I love them and hug them whether they need it or not. Everyone who has children should do the same.

IM4BAMA. You come up with some interesting topics. You bring up that “uniform pants”, those that the school board enforces students to wear are capable of being gun holsters? So what do you suggest then? we all go to school naked? Yes. I’m quite sure that will solve the problem. Everyone going to school with no pants on.

I second what Kakura said about pens.
Anyways. This has nothing to do with the topic. I say we just end this here. And those who want to comment on the story should do so.

IM4BAMA, it is interesting that you chose to point out the misspellings of others, and then referred to “arithmatics"…

...did you mean “arithmetic” or “mathematics”?

wink

Weapons in schools - goes back to the Saggy Pants blog going on weeks ago. Baggy pants - even uniform pants in schools - give “greater opportunity” to conceal weapons. I saw a video about uniforms in schools which showed a young man with saggy pants. He was able to conceal quite a few weapons. If we adhere to the regulations set in place, possible sad incidents like at Davidson can be caught before they occur.

IM4BAMA, don’t post comments flaming spelling when you yourself make mistakes as well. Arithmetic* http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=arithmetic
And arithmetic needs no “s” when referring to it plurally.
So Mr. “Teacher” with your “degree”, don’t put others down on a forum about a completely different topic, and go learn your basics.

IM4BAMA, there may be different reasons why that may be. For example, I am at a different computer than I normally am at, thus my spelling mistakes are due in part to a very reactive keyboard. Another reason why is that us students write with pens all day, and not type at a keyboard.

I am curious - and this has nothing to do with the content of the posted comments. Do these comments go through some type of grammar mixing software program or something....b\c I am so curious as to why there are so many misspelled words, bad grammar, etc. especially funny coming from “students”. Maybe too much time in class spent on other things (social life, cell phone) and not enough time learning the basics...reading, WRITING, and arithmatics.
