Eric Buzbee's lawyer says sheriff's deputies have the pinned the Bobby Wilson case on the wrong man. "My client is innocent," says Fairhope attorney John Beck. "We now have evidence we collected ourselves that shows my client wasn't near the crime scene when Mr. Wilson was attacked. We'll be releasing our findings soon and the information should clear Eric Buzbee's name. Buzbee has been named by D-A Judy Newcomb and Sheriff Hoss Mack as a "person of interest" in the attack on Spanish Fort businessman Bobby Wilson. Buzbee was arrested on an unrelated drug charge during a search warrant execution...but has not been charged directly in the Wilson case. Buzbee's family has hired a private investigator to gather evidence that Beck says will hopefully clear his client's name. "If investigators think Eric Buzbee was responsible for the horrible attack on Mr. Wilson, they're wrong." Bobby Wilson is still recovering from his injuries at a private medical center on the Eastern Shore. Wilson's family says he's regained consciousness but still can't speak or communicate.
