Police say when Hill Pearce came on campus he was hoping to see a family member according to Lt. Jud Beedy. "The students immediate family, our suspect is a distant relative of his had forbid Mr. Pearce from seeing this particular student."
While on campus he started taking digital photographs of random students, "He says he's a photography buff, it's something he's interested in but we don't necessarily believe that story."
But the biggest surprise came later according to Lt. Beedy, "It's not everyday that you find a car at the high school parking lot with four guns in the car one gun on him."
Police confiscated a .45 caliber semi-automatic, .40 caliber semi-automatic, a .45 caliber revolver, a .32 automatic and a 9mm.
This all happened as school was ending for the day. Pearce never made contact with the student and administrators were able to hold on to him till police arrived.
Students we spoke with were unaware anything had happened at all. "If it happened during school instead of after it could have been pretty bad," says junior, Jonathan Seville. "I do think it's kind of scary someone would come on campus doing that," says senior Kelsey Lietka.
"Whether his intentions were innocent or not, I have to believe with him on campus taking random pictures he wasn't there just to see a relative for a few minutes," says Beedy.
Pearce is jailed on weapons violations, criminal trespassing and criminal surveillance charges.
There maybe more trouble ahead for Pearce. During a search of his home in McIntosh, police discovered pornographic material. It was turned over the Washington County District Attorney's office who plans to present the case to the next grand jury.
