The grandmother of a little boy who was killed by a stray bullet more than 6 years ago is fighting for change in her community. 6-year-old Kearis Bonham was killed in December 2001 when three men ambushed Prichard police officers. Those three men were later convicted of capital murder in the case. Now, Bonham's grandmother is heading up a newly organized task force devoted to helping youth in Prichard and preventing crime. It's called The Parent and Youth Task Force; and it's made up of city and community leaders, churches, businesses, youth groups, school counselors and principals,"that's our desire to help save a life, to help save our young people lives, and to just help them to become productive young people," said Martha Bonham. If you want to make a difference in a child's life or in the community, you'll get your chance June 14th. That's when The Parent and Youth Task Force will hold a forum. It will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the A.J. Cooper Municipal Complex in Prichard.
