In Baldwin County, Daphne led the way developing a bio-diesel fuel recycling program with cooking oil. Jere Hough first reported the story in May: Daphne Recycling
Now Baldwin County Landfills want to use cooking oil to convert into a bio-diesel fuel.

From November 19th through December 1st, Baldwin County residents are encouraged to save used cooking oil and bring it into one of four landfills throughout the county.
Buford King is the Assistant Landfill Manager for Baldwin County Solid Waste. King says residents just have to pour the cooking oil into a container, let the oil cool, and then bring it in to the facility free of charge. Right now, the landfills are only collected cooking oil, not grease.
