U.S. Attorney Gregory R. Miller says Holley Barnes created a fraudulent “Girl Scout Medical Release” to obtain the Social Security Numbers of girls in her troop. She then used the Social Security Numbers to file electronic federal income tax returns totaling more than $187,000. Barnes also pleaded guilty to stealing merchandise from the Pensacola Navy Exchange and returning it for a refund. Barnes racked up $6,012.44 in store credit since April.
She faces up to life in prison if convicted on all 35 counts.
