27-year-old Labarron McDonald was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole today in a Baldwin County courtroom. McDonald was found guilty for shooting and killing Marlin Lashane Phipps. Phipps, 33, was sitting in a sport utility vehicle in a Foley parking lot. The case has drawn lots of attention because Foley High School football star and University of Alabama signee Julio Jones was a key witness. While on the stand, Jones testified that he heard 3 quick gun shots, and saw McDonald put the gun to Phipps' head and fire another round.

I think someone needs to invent a video game called WELCOME TO THE ELECTRIC CHAIR or CONNECT THE CHEMICALS or how about a game show called ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A LIFER?

atbman I agree with you 100% - It makes me so mad when I see these killers get on TV and say it is cruel and unusual the way they want to put me to death.  I think that if you take someone’s life then your life should be taken as well.  As far as this guy goes - you had your trail - you were found guilty- take your punishment like a man-

The article states that a witness saw this guy put the gun to the other man’s head and shoot him again. That sounds like a loving father to me. If you can’t afford a lawyer one will be appointed. He was found guilty. The tax payers will have to pay for his upkeep for the next 60-70 years. I say start hanging people again. That will relieve over crowding in the jails. Maybe somebody will think before they take someone elses life.

First of all you should get your facts straight before you post comments about people. You know nothing more than what you read in the newspaper and see on the tv. I have grown up with this man all my life and he is not a murderer. He is a loving father and was railroaded because he does not have the money for an attorney. You obviously have nothing better to do than post comments and pass judgement on people you don’t even know, so since your life is so boring go take a look at the court documents and the evidence and then come back with a realistic judgement once you have all of your facts straight.

I agree. But, I think that he should only serve about one year. Then move him to another area, the cemetrey. Why should we had to pay for his upkeep for the next 60 or 70 years. Use the money and space to help someone who can be helped, like a drug addite get rehab.
