An 18-wheeler, driving on the wrong side of the road, slams into on-coming traffic and then off an overpass.
The fiery crash happened Monday in Edmonton, Canada. A witness with a home video camera, watch helplessly as Mark Santos drove on the wrong side of the highway. She was still rolling when Santos' terrifying trip came to a crashing end. The truck plunged off an overpass and erupted into a ball of flames, killing Santos.
Santos is diabetic and his family believes he may have been suffering from a hypoglycemic seizure. That theory makes sense to Dave Hrycak, who also witnessed the crash.
"He was basically slumped down, bobbing around," Hrycak said. "Arms down at his side. We got a pretty good look at him. He was definitely not driving the vehicle."
No other injuries were reported in the crash.

I probably should have made my previous posting a little clearer,I was referring to a dead man’s switch on the 18 wheeler not the vehicle filming the accident.I don’t think someone would be making a video while driving,at least i hope not.As for kids,I love’m,we have had more than you can count on both hands though this house on a 24/7 basis that stayed with us two years or more, and they all know they are welcomed to come back anytime they need to.

I would be upset, too. But my first reaction would not be to get out the video recorder and chase after danger!

And please tell me how filming would save people’s lives????

Sounds like the people here obviously DO NOT have children or know absolutely NOTHING about children. I myself know as well as any other TRUE mother that when the mother is upset or worked up that it causes tension and therefore causing the child to be upset. I believe what this woman did WHILE HER HUSBAND was driving was great cause then the emergency people can know exactly what happen instead of assuming. ANYONE seeing this in real life would have been very upset if they were ANY type of person at all. By the sounds of the child, it was a very young child and BTW, young children cry! What is wrong with people today that view the news and then have something incrimidating to say because they are simply jealous that it was not them in this poor womans shoes! She was likely simply filming to potentially save someones life or simply be able to see exactly what happened! I commend her for her courage and sorry for the people whom did have to experience such a horrific accident.

This sounds like a good case for a dead man’s switch on the steering wheel so when the vehicle is in gear and moving if the hand or hands leave the steering wheel,it shuts the engine off. This might have saved this person’s life and many more down the road.

i’m pretty sure the baby was screaming because the mother was screaming “oh,myGod!!” in such an alarming tone.  this does not determine her speed, or that there was some sort of neglect on the mother’s part. i do feel however, she was putting both their lives at risk. this is a very sad thing to have happened this this driver and his family, who now have to deal with thier loss. my heart, and well wishes go out to the family.

I didn’t mean to pull over a coo it, but to love it enough to want to protect it. That 18-wheeler speeding down the wrong side of the interstate was obviously an accident waiting to happen, but even as their child screams, they seem more interested in speeding along with it to film in than in protecting themselves and their child.

maybe because the baby is not at risk of killing people. tell me you would stop filming a semi traveling on the wrong side of the interstate to coo at your child. do you honestly think the child will remember the day her parents were to busy filming a disaster to pick her up. boy you are right. that is exactly what is wrong with children today.

I like how they find filming this more important than their screaming baby. And we wonder what’s wrong with children today?
