I think if he really wanted to burn the building down he would not have contained the fire to a trash can.

I think the man, as any human being, deserves a fair investigation. I don’t know what he exactly did and why he did it. That is yet to be seen. However, the man IS a LIAR. I am not talking about differences in opinions. I have many friends who have different opinions than I have, whither in religion, politics, or any other issue. That is fine. His problem is laying about the opposing opinion in order to discredit it. That is his style. Like I said, don’t take my word for it. Be SMART. Don’t be intellectually lazy. Check it out yourself. But beware!! The truth sometimes bites.

To an offended Muslim:  Only the One Truth God (Allah?) has access to the purity of motives of the heart. LYING and differing opinions or mistaken opinions are not the same.  We cannot be labeling this man and be accurate regardless of previous communications.... or lack thereof.

I am Muslim. I had a discussion with Mr. Shorrosh in 1993 regarding his book “Islam Revealed” and I have the audio tape to prove it. He claimed to know the Arabic language so intimately that he could point out “mistakes” in the Quran. I went over his claims point by point and showed him that he was wrong and that he clearly misquoted or mistranslated the Quran. He would just laugh and go to the next point. He took advantage of people’s lack of information about Islam to spread his lies. Don’t take my word for it. Get his book and go to any Islamic center to get a free copy of the Quran and compare what he claims to what is in the Quran. HE IS A LIAR.

I have personally known him for many years and have followed up on his teachings, he is not a liar. Many people who say he his liar are afraid of the truths he has to say about Islam. He has devoted his life to helping others, the last thing he would want is to put people in harms way.

i me mr shorrosh years ago,, he use to come and speak to the church i was a part of, i live in the mobile area, according to the local newspaper, he was trying to burn taz records from his ministry ,, will wait to hear more about this

I know Mr. Shorrosh. He is a chronic liar. He likes to make stories up to gain publicity. However, regardless of my opinion of him, he deserves a fair investigation.

I don’t think this is the whole story. Like someone said, he was bipolar and most likely not taking his meds.  I have talked to Anis on many occasions and he is a very good Christian and has much love for all people. I know he would never want to put anyone in harms way.  I am very sure he will not be convicted of arson, but when that happens (not if it happens) his vindication will not be in the news.

its really a bad thing i always admired his courage but if he had intended to burn that building down bipolar is no excuse the lives that could have been lost could not have been replaced i will pray for him and his family if he is bipolar he must have come off of his medication and that was his choice

Dr. Shorrosh has had much stress, according to friends, and is bipolar on meds.  This may have led to this “out of control” incident.
