The Baldwin County Health Department tells News 5 a child has tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis. The child lives in Gulf Shores and is being treated at a Mobile hospital. The child's age has not been released. Mosquiotoes spread EEE. About one-third of people who contract EEE die. Symptoms include high fever, severe headaches, confusion and seizures. Doctors say you can protect yourself from EEE by using a Deet-based repellent.

Prayers going out to this child for a full and speedy recovery!
