MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a man accidentally
ran over his wife after a drunken argument over who should drive
near Cape Canaveral.
Florida state troopers say Richard and Becky Zubowicz had been
drinking and pulled into a grocery store parking lot to argue
Thursday.
Richard Zubowicz allegedly pushed his wife to the ground,
circled the parking lot in his sport utility vehicle and ran her
over when he returned to the spot where they had been fighting.
Authorities found Becky Zubowicz still pinned beneath the SUV in
Merritt Island. She remained in critical condition Friday.
Titusville resident Richard Zubowicz remains jailed on charges
of drunken driving and causing a serious injury and domestic
violence. Jail records did not indicate if he has an attorney.
