SUFFOLK, Va. (AP) - A judge set bail for a Florida man accusedof giving helicopter rides while drunk. But he required the man to
relinquish his pilot's license before leaving jail.
Fifty-year-old Ronald John Davis Jr. of Naples was arrested
Sunday at the Suffolk Peanut Fest after people complained to police
that he was flying erratically.
Prosecutor Jeff James said at the bond hearing that Davis
endangered the lives of thousands of people at the weekend
festival.
According to court documents, Davis failed a field sobriety test
and registered a high blood-alcohol concentration on a preliminary
breath test.
The judge set his bond at $15,000.
