Police say 40-year-old Charles Bazzel was traveling west on I-10. He was near the Navco Road overpass when one of the front tires on his vacuum truck blew out, around 7:40 this morning. Police say Bazzel lost control, hit the median retaining wall and then two light poles before he was ejected.
The truck caught on fire. The wreckage and black smoke backed up traffic for miles. It took crews more than 4 hours to clear the wreck and reopen I-10.

Also if there is an issue with a defective tire there is video of the aftermath to be viewed and it may help find answers to many questions, there is good and bad in all of this, but the main concern is to help this family through this and not be so petty about details and blame, they really don’t need the added stress that everyone is giving them over the videos and pics, telling them about the videos and pics only fuels their grief and causes bitterness. It is not WKRG fault that this accident happened only God knows the reason, it was Little Man’s time and place to go and nothing could have stopped it, just pray for his family and offer your help if you are able to help them in any way that you can
