Mobile Police blame a blown tire for a fiery crash that killed an Eight Mile man and forced them to shutdown I-10 for several hours this morning
Police say 40-year-old Charles Bazzel was traveling west on I-10. He was near the Navco Road overpass when one of the front tires on his vacuum truck blew out, around 7:40 this morning. Police say Bazzel lost control, hit the median retaining wall and then two light poles before he was ejected.
The truck caught on fire. The wreckage and black smoke backed up traffic for miles. It took crews more than 4 hours to clear the wreck and reopen I-10.

Continued, There may be a time in their lives when they are grown and may want to see these videos, then they can decide for themselves. Also if there is an issue with a defective tire there is video of the aftermath to be viewed and it may help find answers to many questions, there is good and bad in all of this, but the main concern is to help this family through this and not be so petty about details and blame, they really don’t need the added stress that everyone is giving them over the videos and pics, telling them about the videos and pics only fuels their grief and causes bitterness. It is not WKRG fault that this accident happened only God knows the reason, it was Little Man’s time and place to go and nothing could have stopped it, just pray for his family and offer your help if you are able to help them in any way that you can

I know this family too. It is horrible that this has happened, but I agree with amber-marie, the news has to be reported. I believe it could have been worse, at least he was not shown in any of the videos. The 16 year old boy that was killed on Dec. 23 was shown going into the hospital and was already dead. The children thrown from the bridge was also horrible, how do you think these mothers feel everytime those videos are shown? At least WKRG has been tackful and not shown more of Little Man’s accident. My heart goes out to this family and I can only imagine what they are going through. Our thoughts and prayers are with them in their time of need. None of the people commenting about this video commented about the 16 year old or the children thrown from the bridge how the videos should be taken off the web site. If the family doesn’t want the children to see the video, then don’t let them see tv or get on the internet.

Continued-
There is a huge difference between showing the moments before death, the moment of death and the moments to follow. All of these things are carefully studied while in school. Think of 9/11. Those actually showed all three of the above mentioned. No-one really complained about that. We were too awe-strucken.  It was a national tragedy. The public was entitled to know. Well, this is a local tragedy. Our whole community was and will be affected by this.
I know that I am forever hated now for saying all this. But honestly, a newsreporter cannot even do his job anymore without anyone having their feelings hurt. It is inevatable. I doubt that any of them acctually read these comments except for maybe a moderator to make sure nothing profane or vulgar is said. They have to do their jobs and that cannot possible be done with people constantly on their backs about what they think is right and what they think should or should not be posted in the news.
My prayers are with the fam.

Look guys, I understand that this is a HORRIBLE tragedy and my thoughts and prayers all go out to the family and friends of the affected. But, all the WKRG staff went over a certain document that they were told to live by when they were in college, it was their Code of Ethics. While, yes, it does say to show sensitivity and compassion to the family involved in an incident. The first section says to “Seek truth and report it”. It also says to tell stories about human expirience “boldly, even when it is unpopular to do so.”. Who is the one entitled to draw this line? The reporter. Not you. I know that sounds harsh. But, don’t blam WKRG or Jamie Burch. Blame Sacha Norman for sending in the pictures. Horrble things happen and the public is entitled to know about things. Their are more people involved than just the family. The entire community is involved. If these pictures were showing his moment of death. I would be totally against this 100%. - continued above-

I am Disgusted with WKRG for allowing this video and pictures to remain on this website while the family and friends of this Good Man is Grieving.  We will let the Advertisers of WKRG know of our Disgust over their support of such a disrepectful nature of this Station.

Lil Man was loved and well respected by so many in the community.  He will surely be missed, but he has left a part of him with everyone who knew him.

I agree with this amily! Please don’t leave this up I for one thing think it’s very depressing. I think that they are going through enough trouble already and I don’t think you should have this open for them to watch the tragedy over and over again! I say this as a loyal viewer and one of Josh Bazzel’s friend!
Sincerely,
Alli Godbee

Prayers being said for Mr. Bazzel and the entire family.

I agree that this needs to be removed. So sad that news reporting takes precedence over a human life.

I agree about removing the video. I know the family (from the ballpark) and want only to respect them and honor Mr. Bazzel’ s memory. No one needs these horrible pictures etched on their minds. Please remove them immediately.

To the family-I am so sorry-words cannot even begin to ease your pain now. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Please know that Little Man was so loved by this community, as are all of you.

WKRG,
Please remove this video out of respect for the family.  Hearing this news is bad enough.  No one wants to see it.
Thanks, Susan
