to the Dothan Regional Airport being evacuated for more than two
hours was probably not a pipe bomb as they originally feared.
Airport marketing director Angela McNeal said the Dothan Police
Department's bomb squad blew the device up twice and will
reconstruct it to be 100 percent sure it wasn't a bomb.
About 50 people were at the airport when it was evacuated when
the device was found around 7 a.m. Tuesday.
McNeal said a flight had just taken off when the device was
found but an incoming flight from Atlanta had to be postponed
because of the evacuation.
The Dothan Eagle first reported the incident on its website.
